"Jeffrey Jones is being irrational. Is it too late to stop him? Maybe it always was too late. Apparently, he is committed to being an artist, and maybe he always has been. Are artists made or are born? Since being born is being made (or being born is to have been made, if you prefer) we can say the question is academic. We can say all questions are always academic. Answers are not rational, come to that; for when an answer is valid, we recognize it immediately, and so it is not an answer at all but our own misplaced memory returned to us. What does the artist do for our living? He returns irrational replies to academic questions. He reminds us of what we knew all along. He is a restorer od lost pictures. We look at his work and we remembered that dream, that beauty, those wings, that peril and excitement; we remember who we were and we remember who we will be..." Irma Kurtz.
