"ln January 2004 Dirk Reinartz worked on this book of photographs taken during private trips to New York in 1974. He had developed its design concept, selected the pictures and determined almost half of their sequence. With Reinartz's sudden death in March 2004 the work remained unfinished; it has been completed by his wife Karin Reinartz."
